New BBC Governor appointed

18 July 2003

Downing Street today announced that Deborah Bull has been
appointed a Governor of the BBC. Deborah will take up her post
on 1 August 2003 for a four-year term.

She replaces Sir Richard Eyre who left the Board at the end of
May 2003 due to increasing external commitments.

In a statement BBC Chairman, Gavyn Davies, said: "I greatly welcome
the appointment of Deborah Bull and look forward to working with her.

"Richard Eyre's contribution as a Governor with impressive creative credentials was always going to be hard to match, but Deborah's appointment achieves just that."
